Raising your eyes, in the surroundings of Radetzky Café, you can see this huge 176 square meters wide urban canvas that, since May 2017, interprets the imagination of Gucci and unites marketing to contemporary art and giving . A special partnership between Gucci and the artist Ignasi Monreal sees the Spaniard create two unique artwork installations—one, on the 760-square-meter wall on Lafayette Street in New York City's SoHo neighbourhood, and the other on the 176-square-meter wall in Milan's Largo la Foppa, in the district of Corso Garibaldi.
After collaborating at the Gucci Gift Giving campaign and the creation of the Gucci SS18 advertising campaign, Monreal will stage its distinctive surreal and dreamlike style through these new murals that have already won us over.
Gucci returns to invade the streets of Milan New York with its art wall. This time the drawings take us back, as in the advertising campaign of the pre-fall 2018 shot by the photographer Glen Luchford, the spring of 1968 and the student protests in Paris. The images of the Pre-Fall 19 campaign become murals. Over the last few seasons, for its ArtWall series, Gucci has painted dozens of buildings around the world to celebrate the world of art and more or less famous creatives, from Serbian performance artist Marina Abramović to Spanish artist Ignasi Monreal. To mark this collaboration, Gucci dedicated its ArtWalls in New York, London, Milan, Hong Kong, and Shanghai to murals made by global refugees.
